Hena Tahir

Meet Dr. Hena Tahir (Rockford, IL)

Dr. Hena Tahir earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University and completed an ocular disease residency affiliated with Drexel University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and also holds a Master of Biomedical Science degree from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science degree from The College of New Jersey.

Dr. Tahir provides comprehensive eye care with a special interest in ocular disease and emergency eye care. Her clinical interests include dry eye disease, glaucoma, keratoconus, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. She is passionate about helping patients protect their vision through personalized care, early detection, and thoughtful management of both routine and complex eye conditions.

Dr. Tahir believes patients should understand their eye health and feel confident in their care. She takes the time to educate her patients about their conditions and treatment options and especially values the long-term relationships that come from caring for patients over time. Outside of clinic, Dr. Tahir enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active by the lake, exploring new restaurants, and volunteering in her community.
