Meet Dr. Hena Tahir (Rockford, IL)

Hena Tahir, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from Rutgers University in 2018, where she also earned a Master of Science degree. She earned her Bachelor of Science from The College of New Jersey in 2016.

Dr. Tahir is an experienced optometrist focused on providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include dry eye management, emergency eye care, glaucoma treatment, keratoconus treatment, comprehensive eye exams, cataract surgery co-management, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. She is committed to delivering personalized care while helping patients protect and preserve their vision. Dr. Tahir is fluent in both English and Urdu, allowing her to connect with and care for a diverse patient population.

Dr. Tahir became an optometrist because she wanted a career that combines medicine, problem-solving, and meaningful relationships with patients. She finds it especially rewarding to help patients preserve their independence and quality of life through better vision. She enjoys managing ocular disease, educating patients about their eye health, and building lasting relationships as she helps them navigate chronic eye conditions and take an active role in their care.
